Shizuka: Graduation and then...Marriage?!

This is not going to be an awfully long post as I don't have time for translating the interviews and stuff right away, I just wanted to share this cover with you.

The February 2014 issue of Ageha is the last issue Shizuka Mutou will appear in. The issue starts off with a 6 page spread about Shizuka's past, present and future. And a plot twist: she will be getting married to a person that means a lot to her...hmmmm

I was a little disappointed, as all the models always do that, shotgun wedding, pop out babies and stuff~
BUT, I didn't read te article yet and I don't know whether she already planned to marry or it's just a future dream or something...I'll look at it the first week of the new year and if there's interest I can post some translations, but it will be time consuming so I won't be as quick as last time...6 page spread guys..omg...I'm kind of excited to read it..And scared

I was a little sad the furoku (little gift that comes with the issue) wasn't a Rady collab, it's Lip Service~ I'm really sick of paying over 700 yen for this mag just because they contain another makeup pouch every month :/ New Year's resolution: Don't buy anymore mags with furoku in them~

Anyway let me know if you would be interested in seeing more translations on this spread.
And what are your feelings about Shizuka getting married (afterall)?!!

Year`s overview in outfits (July-Dec 2013)

I was happy to find out during the last overview post that theres actually more of you interested in that than I thought. So I felt encouraged to finish this :D

these are the previous posts:
Sept-dec 2012
Jan-June 2013

July was the month that things started getting seriously hot outside. I really don`t like the heat and I had been dreading this all year so I was reeeaaally trying to cope, as I slowly gave up my jeans for floral pants and skirts and later, in August, my lovely blazer for a cardigan I could tie around my shoulders (Everyone was doing it, so naturally so should I). But  to be honest I couldn't find any proper pictures of that~

In that time I did have a lot of fun. Because a lot of international students were leaving in August we took the last bit of July and beginning of August to hang out as much as we could in all kinds of places! Japan has lots of events to see in summer :)

I also had some Dutch friends coming around for holidays, one of whom was HYPER`s Elize :3

It`s always nice to see the same place through the eyes of someone else, I also love taking people from outside Amsterdam into the city with me so I can feel like more of a tourist there.

The state of my hair was getting worse and worse. I tied my hair up most the time because of the heat, but because I wasn`t taking good enough care of my nutrition, my hair became very fragile and it`s very broken at the ends and the place may hair band usually sits, it`s so dramatic even the hairdresser can`t really put it straight again..I`m considering a bob when I come back to Amsterdam...because I see no way my hair will ever be pretty again right now...

I also started getting a little excited for fall trends, with gold black and white, I have a lot of stuff I bought in summer that would have been great for fall but I never really used a`s a pitty.

I spent 2 weeks in Tokyo with my lover.

It was too hot for proper clothing and proper outfit shots guys :/ I've had my lifetime worth of summer this year I think, I seriously don't want summer to come next year, I have no trouble having a cold dutch summer..I would prefer it..

And then I went back to Amsterdam for a few weeks, to see my family, friends and the dentist :/ I've shown you one look from the small meet we had in there before :)

I was happy to be home and see my friends and family. And coming back in September, living abroad was starting to show it`s painful side..

I had one perfect weekend with my lover on my birthday was the most perfect time I had this whole year..

But my closer friends were gone and the only thing keeping me optimistic was the fact my mom would come visit me in October and the time I could spend with my love. But out love didn`t go over roses (This is a dutch expression XD But I can't help myself...I have to write it down hahahaha), and after my mom left in October, the pressure of my environment, academic requirements and love struggles broke me down so hard that I had to admit to myself I needed help.

These are from when my mom was here:
You see October has very fickle weather here~

When they left and I was so down, I somehow knew I had to start building my autonomy so I slowly got into blogging again. I`m trying to regain my old hobbies and interests that I threw out thinking these might not represent my personality anymore..I had built myself around only one part of myself, the part that was in love with M. Now I`m trying to come back from that.

What happened since, is mostly stuff I`ve blogged about here. I got closer to my scarce friends here and went to a Halloween party, we went to Kobe and USJ and I learned to enjoy shopping and things by myself, I have more courage.

I`ve met most the student attainment goals in this semester so far and I`ve not been doing so bad anymore.. Sadly my relationship with M withered away..we loved too much I think, well...I know it`s not that romantic, but I don`t need to go into detail.. I just want to have mentioned it, because it was a huge thing for me this year to be together with her, and it`s going to be a huge thing next year not to be together. Guys, I hate being such a..whiney person but I'm just so sad :(

It`s a sad ending to my year, but..I`ll drink to myself this NewYear`s eve, so that next year I`ll regain my authenticity, and learn to be a happy person by myself in this world.

2014 poses a lot of challenges, I`ll graduate from my master and I will have to find a job. I hope to take JLPT N1 and get a certificate for my English proficiency, to aid my job-hunting.. I`m making it a pro-active 2014, it`s time to leave my family`s nest and step into the world.

Happy New Year!!!!!

My home :3

Hey guys, so it`s not a lot but I wanted to show some pics of my house..the new year is coming and that will be a year of which I spend most time back in Amsterdam again..
I`ve lived here for more than 9 months now and my house became a warm place for me. Right now it`s decorated for the Holidays and I`ll keep most of that until I leave, just to cheer me up.

This is the side of my bed. Above the bed I have 2 posters of Amsterdam, and later I posted an advent calendar there too but it keeps falling down. I can`t use pins to hang posters up and the wallpaper is a rough sandy texture so it`s hard to post things up, which is sad for me as I love having my walls covered with things.

The white blanket and Matryoshka water bottle were borrowed from my lover so I felt I had to return them when we broke up last week.. But she sent them back because she doesn't want me to be cold, so I kind of treasure them right now...I'll give them back later..

Right now I have a little Christmas tree at my bedside :)

This is the desk side of my room, with some maps of Kyoto and my schedule..And other stuff..the desk is usually a mess and as my chair is not so comfy I just sit and eat on the bed most of the time.

This is my...what do you call it? Vanity table? It`s actually a computer table they provided with the appartment but I thought I`ll just use it for makeup and accessories~

I started with 2 pouches, one for makeup and one for accessories, but somehow this is what I ended up having... A lot of stuff *hoards*

This is how the room looks from the window side, behind the door is the kitchen, bathroom, toilet...

I`ve got a lot of coats and stuff and shoes there on the right and behind there is my closet with the rest of the clothes.

Then there`s this thingy:

As you can see I have another wig here...I decorate the house with wigs and hats that I hardly ever use so...well I just don`t feel alone~
And some birthday cards and pictures of Amsterdam up there~ :) I love my town..I`m so torn about going back...

Let me add a picture of the showerroom to give an impression

Check out my ducky friends~

And last but certainly not least, the view from my window on different occasions.

It`s nice right? I`m so lucky to have this room on the 5th floor, looking into the mountains..I often get a beautiful sunset as a gift before ending the day.

I`m a little nostalgic writing this, it`s my home but in one year so much happened here and sometimes I feel these walls are owned by memories of others..
I`m proud of my home and happy to share it with you :)
I hope you liked my little tour :)

I'm sharing some more data after moving out, for prospective Ritsu students that are checking out the university provided housing~~
This building is called Kouraku Heights in Kinugasa, Arami-cho, Kyoto (Near Kinkakuji, 5 mins by foot, and Ritsumeikan University, 15 mins). It is NOT a dorm, and there is no communal area, but there ARE other foreign Ritsu students in the building, when I came in we were mostly SKP (short term) students but when I left most of the other students were from Global Studies or something? I made my best friends the day I moved in, meeting the others in the building and a few people that lived in buildings in the neighbourhood, we all moved in on the same day and ended up being friends for the rest of the semester/year.

It was a building affiliated with the university and the contract came from Flat-agency. The rent was about 45,000 yen a month,  electricity, gas, water and internet excluded. The electricity will cost you a lot because the home isn't isolated well so it's cold in the winter and warm in the summer meaning you will have to use the aircon a lot~
Other than that this rent is not bad. My friend who lived in the same neighbourhood paid the same for a house about half the size of this~ (Also let me remind the casual passerby that housing in Japan is expensive and Kyoto isn't far as expensive as Tokyo or Osaka).
The home is furnished, but things like beddings and pots and pans are not provided~
The toilet and bathroom are separate but the shower-cell definitely shows signs of...well..well..I don't know how to put this..."no matter how much you clean it, it looks dirty" kind of thing~

Other issues that are common to Japanese housing (small size, direct sounds from the neighbours, occasional cockroach) apply here too, but overall, it's not a bad place! It's big and close to the university~ If you have any questions about this building you can ask in the comment section :D

Year`s overview in outfits (Jan-June 2013)

So the beginning of 2013 I was still very much lost in a struggle with my style resulting in weird things like this:

This was during a gal meet in Dusseldorf in January. I wanted to use the floral piece I had bought the previous summer, but also wanted to wear pants and the green was a fun day but a silly coordinate for me..

January was agenerally weird month as it was very cold, I used the red top again for a newyears reception, and it was just...more sweaters...

In that time, I had to study very hard because my study abroad experience was only half a semester away! So I was studying hard and having a not so smooth time with my lover aswel (it never is smooth) and basicly looking and feeling like shit.

I did a lens review in March though, you might have seen it, the look was something like this:

Yes I had the dipdye going on to make myself feel like I was still doing something about my appearance while wearing sweaters sweaters hoodies and sweaters~

I did paint these cute shoes and in my mind I had some awesome Snowwhite-inspired stuff going on for spring, which I off course never pulled through~

This was the last picture in my home, I don`t even know what I wore it for, maybe a presentation or something..but I was putting effort!!! I was excited!!

So then I moved to Japan...tantantannnnn. Which has and had some very exciting, aswel as hard moments..
The first few weeks I really got to make some great friends, they were all so cool and caring and I`m so happy I could be part of that with them...

(Having fun with the friends :D)

Sadly many of them were only with me for one semester but that`s material for the next post.

I moved into my home, which then looked something like this:

but I`m a hoarder and it looks much different now, let me share that with you later!!

I also spent some happy spring days with my lover, but things were going up and down then too.

I actually tried to look nice and as spring was coming we had hot days and we had cold days, I always tried to look nice, these are the outfits I had planned for the introduction week (never really did pull of the one on the right actually..)

Excuse the messiness of the picture, it was never meant to go public but I thought it was funny so I`m putting it up anyway.

My study-life became a lot more relaxed then, and I was hanging out with my friends a lot. This is what I wore on the party for closing the introduction week.

And as spring was in the air these pink and camel blazers came in style and I had to have one and use it every day!!!! Use the blazer every day!

That blazer saved my fashion life, I swear~ I started feeling more like shopping once I bought that..And luckilly I had an AMAZING friend to shop with, it was heaven

But it was getting warmer and warmer, so I had to tone it down a bit with this cardigan:

I love it but I wish it was a little darker beige or camel, I don`t know very well what to wear it with (flatteringly), and it`s too cold to use it now but I`ll give it a second chance next summer :)

I want to cut it off here because it`s already quite long, and I`ve noticed these posts aren`t very popular, but I`m doing it because I like it so still fine, just saving those few dedicated friends that want to see it to the end.

Next post should be shorter as I`ve posted some more here again might be some more text about having a great time, the greatest time, in late July early August, and falling down since August hitting a low in November :3 Happy times, excuse my sarcasm~
