Sponsored Review: Princess Toenails by KKcenterHK.com

Hey guys,
WOW it's been a while. Today I'm posting this review because I really owe KKcenterHK.
They haven't reprimanded me as of yet, even though I've had their sponsored item sitting around my house for months without reviewing..so here it is

But there is an upside to this review being made now.
It's right before the holiday season. We want to present our friends and lovers with cute and original gifts (right?). And parties for Christmas and Newyear's are great excuses for wearing coctaildresses, and open shoes like mules and open-toed pumps. In fact you might say these occasions are the only justification for us wearing open shoes in winter~!

December takes a lot of attention to personal grooming, we want to look pretty from head to toe. And today, the latter is what it's all about~ Our toes..eek~!

These are false nails. But they're not just false nails, they're false nails that go on your toes~! I got them sponsored from KKcenterHK and this is the model I chose.

"Why on earth would I want to attract attention to my funny feet/toes by wearing sparkly decorated toenails?" you may ask..

Most people don't like the way their feet look, and let's face it, noone has normal feet to begin with~ But there will be occasions you want your feet to look elegant or cute. And on those occasions, a false toenail might actually help make your feet look clean and normal, as it will cover up the funny unevenness of your nails. Making all your toes look more....homogeneous ;P

One set of nails comes with 12 nails, and the sizes vary greatly. So I think you'll be able to find a nail that fits even the most tiny of your nails! It also comes with pink glue to attach them. I didn't use the glue making the review, I used double-sided tape so I could easily take them off again and reuse them when it's actually Christmas :) (So excuse the very sad and bare foot in the background of the other picture)

These nails give a sweet look to different kinds of shoes. If you like the very elaborate and decorative Hime style, you can match your nails with your frilly shoes, and you could try to find similar fingernails too. In the case of the nails I've been sponsored, nails like these would match well.
But you could also use them to add a cute detail to a more mature and sexy look, it might work to use nails that contrast the color of your shoes then.

In fact, I didn't know this, but KKcenterHK, though known for their cosmetics, actually retails shoes! If you want to give your feet some love this season, Check them out here.
I like these as they go with the metalic trend that's going on this year, and because of the neutral silver, it goes with lots of colors~

Please check out KKcenterHK.com, for items concerning personal grooming for the season, or cute little gifts, with prices that will work well even for your highschool giftswap~
I was very pleased about the rapid delivery (item arrived within one week!), but delivery might be a little slow in this season, so it would be worth inquiring the estimated delivery time in case you need the item by a certain date.
And for 10% discount, please use coupon code: agejoperfect.

I think I might slowly start posting again during the holidays, just to round up the year. Thank you for sticking with me and reading this entry :)

Announcing a Hiatus

Guys, I'm not going to try to make it look any different than it is: I'm not posting to this blog recently, even though I have plenty of material to post.
I can tell you all kinds of reasons why, and I will, but to just get to the point first I will write the reasons (or excuses ;P) in the end of the post.

Primarily, I'm suspending my activities on this blog for an undetermined period of time.

I might post stuff when it's information about events I want to invite you to, reviews that I'm still oblidged to do, or when I simply feel like it.

The most dominant reason for me to officially announce this hiatus, is because I got started in a master programme and this deserves my undivided time and attention.
Writing a blogpost, no matter how basic, easily takes an hour of my time, and this doesn't include the time I spend getting dressed up and taking pictures.

I'm NOT stopping gyaru style, and I'm not withdrawing from the community. You might still see my photos or activities elsewhere, I'm just not going to actively blog here for a couple months. The same goes for my Tumblr, I'm not visiting Tumblr at all for a while~

For contact, I would like to refer to:
My FB
the blog's email adress
My formspring

All kinds of questions are welcome if you have any~ Or anything else you'd like to tell me~
I would like to stress that nothing bad is going on, I'm just busy and my priorities have changed.

Thank you for being my blog followers (I really appreciate you guys, some of you have really inspired me and motivated me over time, and I'm going to miss that..). I'm sorry if I'm letting you down, but I'm convinced I need to shift my attention to my school now, and I hope I can come back in a while, and make this blog a lively place again~

Days we spent with Rox' friends :)

Hey guys~
Ok sorry, I've been reaaaally lazy because I quit writing reports while I was in Japan, but even though I've been back for over a week, I haven't even given you a sign of life..
So yeah, I'm alive~!
I'm going to tell you about the days we spent with Rox' friend (and her friend's friend) that came to Japan too. Rox' friend was someone she met during her internship at Iris van Herpen.

I'm not being completely chronological here but it's for the best this way~ I also have to kickstart my writing style a little~ But I will~~

The first time we went to meet Rox' friends, we went for nomihoudai with the four of us (that's all you can drink). I'm not actually much of a drinker at all, but in Japan the drinks kind of lure me in every time~

This is what we were wearing that day, to meet the girls:

But before we went to meet them, Rox and I spotted this guy with epic hair:

Later, during the nomihoudai, we walked into a group of guys and he was one of them. We figured they might have been some kind of VK band, maybe one that was just starting out, as we saw them doing a little conference kind of thing in Shinjuku later~

After nomihoudai Rox and I ended up buying this cap:

tadahhh

We met up with them again later that week, for fireworks!
Rox and I decided to wear our yukata, but, and this didn't come unexpected, wearing yukata in Japan feels a little awkward~
Even though the people we knew personally were all super positive and sweet about it, you just get stared at. And on the one hand I understand this, but on the other hand, I really don't..
Eitherways, this is how I looked:

The fireworks were part of an event that as related to music event A-Nation (which I don't know too much about, but there were lots of performances in private stadiums). The event took place in Yoyogi park~
It was suuuuuper crowded at the park, and all the food stalls had terribly long lines in front of them, so bless Rox for bringing this fried rice ♥
We ended up splitting the rice with the four of us on a parkinglot.

Rox' cooking is really great, so even though this was a simple rice...it was deliiiicious~~

And the fireworks (pics came out a little weird here, but check Rox' blog for when she updates on this, she's got beautifull pictures of it~):

Our friends had to leave the next day, so we couldn't meet up again but I was really happy to meet them and we had loooots of fun~

Thank you for your patience and please keep me motivated to shoot out these posts~ I want to be done by the time of my birhday (the 22nd, yes the 22nd of this month but also, my 22nd birthday~!) so please help me stay on track!!

Gyaru meet 2k12, update

Sorry I haven't made frequent updates this week, I've been having tons of fun though, and well, I want to make a last update on tomorrow's gal meet.

Tomorrow we're going to meet in front of Shibuya 109 at 13:00 (1PM) Rox and I will be easy to recognise as we'll have fans decorated with the text gal meet 2k12~
We'll go shopping in 109 (we have some specific stores in mind but we can go to the stores you like too), then we want to take purikura in an arcade after which we want to visit gal cafe 10sion.
That's as far as the plan goes, after this people that wanna go for dinner can come along but if you're tired or busy you can go home or go to your other errands (of course, you can always leave during the plan, that's fine anyway)

A camera crew will be present to make a report of the meet, but if you're uncomfortable with that we can keep you out of the shots, please negotiate that with us :)

I want to invite anyone that wasn't sure whether they wanted to come, and people that want to come but don't have FB to put their status on attending, this is said event page .

If you want to come but you're insecure, please come! the point is not to be perfect gals out, the point is to experience gal culture together and make new friends!
If you don't want to or you can't let us know through FB, please tell me your name in a comment below so we can out you on the list and wait for you :)

Korea-town: Shin-okubo

I promised I'd go to Shin-okubo right? Well I did and I'm going to tell you a bit about it. If you're into K-pop or Korean cosmetics, I'd say you might want to check it out.
I'm taking a break from my logical schedule of posting but I'll soon get back on track XD I just like to make these kind of reports more :)

Well, alright, so. When we came out of the Shin-okubo station we got handed a map by one of those people that hand you things. We found a better map later but this map basicly indicates the main streets.

What you'll find on those main streets is basicly cute Korean cosmetics shops, idol shops that sell all kind of items with the faces of your favourite Korean idols on it and Korean restaurants that sometimes advertise with the fact that this or that Korean idol ate there before. There's also a k-pop cafe, maybe there's more k-pop cafe's but I only saw one and I didn't take a picture ;~;

The cosmetics shops are really cute but I'm not sure about how superior Korean cosmetics are to Japanese cosmetics and taking into considderation Korean cosmetics are imported here, Japanese ones are cheaper at the end of the day~ Nevertheless the cosmetics shops are suuuuuuper cute~

Can someone tell me who or what Jang Keun Suk is? He had a shop with his picture all over the walls *_*

Prince idol shop

Princess cosmetics shop~

Is it just me or is this a big picture of Seungri on a window? O_O

I wish I could say more about those idol shops. You'll have seen them all over Japan, usually selling stuff like posters, fans, mugs or pillows with members of Arashi, Kat-tun, News or whatever boy group, and in this case it's all stuff with Korean idols on them. I must say these shops freak me out a little. They don't always sell CD's or other stuff that refers even slightly to these people's actual occupation, which is singing, so it makes you feel kind of voyeurist..all you so is consume their looks and it made me feel awkward so in the end I couldn't step into those shops D:
I've grown to like K-pop but maybe not in this way.

Now there's some more funny services in the area. I told you last time about the man feeding us icecream right? well more shops use handsome and likely Korean men to pull customers, so from time to time you'll be ambushed by tall handsome guys trying to hand you a flyer. There even seems to be some kind of beauty/relax/hand massage center that mainly employs goodlooking Korean men (they are also the sponsors of the map I posted at the top~). And the other day in a funny bookshop near our accomodation, I found a magazine that gathered street snaps of Ikemen from Shin-okubo. So the promise of tall, handsome, exotic but not that exotic Korean men, seems to sell.

I'm not saying Korean girl-groups don't sell, on the contrary, they're all over the place, but in Shin-okubo the accent was most definitely on boy-bands. I didn't even have the feeling it was all the most popular groups that were promoted there, there were a lot of older or less popular idol groups on display too so it's really more of a place for diehard k-pop fans, and not your everyday Japanese-into-k-pop person.
Nevertheless if you've been into k-pop for a long time, if you love Korean food or you want Korean cosmetics, and you happen to be in Japan (then why didn't you go to Korea?), then please PLEASE visit Shin-okubo~!!!

Harajuku and the Meiji Shrine

Last monday Rox and I went to Harajuku and the Meiji shrine~!!

When we went to the Meiji Shrine there was actually a festival going on~!
There was a stage with different performances, the first being this dance/fight scene of a red and a blue man.

I'm not 100% sure but it seemed like the blue represented the coolness, and the red represented the heat. The blue guy won but it's still really hot in here :/ but I guess they wanted to make us feel better..

The other performance was this drum band basically, their costumes were like nothing I'd ever seen before and the performance was really cool~~

We moved on to the main shrine, and met a man that told us it was the day of a festival~ so we stayed to watch the ceremony~

I think the point was that they were bringing food to the Meiji emperor, so these men kept bringing food and stuff up the stairs~
And there was music and dancing. I suppose that was also in honor of the Meiji emperor~

We stayed for really long but at some point our feet hurt too much and so we looked around the shrine a bit more and moved on into Harajuku~ We visited some funny shops

And made some purchases~

my leg looks like a pink whale in this picture~

These actually came from a cheap bookshop here in Takadanobaba

And there's puris from a kyary puri-machine, to remember our strange day in Harajuku~

Shinjuku, Shibuya, stalking and recent purchases~

So I took a little longer to get back to updating, but I'm doing it now!

After we got lost in Shin-okubo, we decided to get on the subway to Shinjuku instead of walking. It was nice to be in the cool subway and to..not walk~

Before I move on I wanna share this picture of Rox and an old man with twin hats:

When we were in Shinjuku station we were a little lost but at some point we spotted a girl that looked really farmiliar and after staring at her a little we realized it was Okarie. She was with a guy that mut have been her BF.. We decided to follow them because wherever they were going but be the place the action is at in Shinjuku (this wa true) we did feel a bit like stalkers but thenagain...we are u_u

Now that we followed them we got near Shinjuku Alta, where we eventually made some purchases! First we walked into Fernopaa, you might remember Rox making a blogpost about them. The shopstaff there were so sweet, they came to talk to us and they were really surprised we liked their stuff (we looked very sweet that day so I can imagine they couldn't imagine). Rox got a cute brooch and I got one of those shoulder thingies, I really needed that so it was a good purchase~
This is Rox with Amihamu from Fernopaa:

We actually saw Ageha's Kana (former Betty model) in Fernopaa too, she's so pretty Q_Q

A little later we stepped into Glavil, where they had a dress that I saw in Egg before and that I reaaaally wanted :D I'm excited about coodinating it~ I'm not 100% sure yet but I think I totally lost my chance buying the perfect hat to go with it :( Monday I saw a hat that I thought was cute in Harajuku but I didn't buy it and now I regret u_u well..I might find it again later~
Anyway Glavil Shopstaff and me:

We ended up in Kabukicho when, ironically, I couldn't get money from the ATM XD
So we went home to get some well deserved rest

The next day we went to Shibuya to hang out and later meet up with Emilie. In Shibuya we had some more stalking to do when we spotted ageha's Guri/Gura in 109~

I think in the future, when we see someone we know from a magazine, I want to pick up all my courage to ask for a picture because this feels a little awkward~

We're definetly coming back to Shibuya later, but that day we just checked the area and we were a little tired so no purchases or special pictures. We did have a really cool night with Emilie :D I hope to repeat that sometime soon~

Now for some purchases, up to that moment:
Cute Yukata ♥

Fernopaa pin

Shoeribbons

Glavil babydoll ♥ I'm so happy I got this~~

small items

Silly purikura because no post is complete without it:

The next update will be about Harajuku and the Meiji shrine~! I hope to have it up soon :)
