Shopping with Rox and the Heineken abduction

Ahoy~
Last week Rox and I went shopping for a litte, this is how we looked:
Photobucket
my specific outfit:
Photobucket

but for more pics of Rox' fabulous outfit and hair go here

What I got that day were these 2 leggins-pretending-to-be-jeans for only 2 euros at primark.
Photobucket
I would recommend them to people with small sizes, I got an L/XL but even though L (sometimes M) is my size, the white base of the legging (under the print) and even the pink of my leg showed through when stretched :( it helps a bit to wear dark tights under it but it doesn't make up for the white ground of the legging.

Rox and I both got these cute tights:

And Rox got a SUPER hot dress at Wonder Woman check out the post here

Something I didn't get (and regret) is this sweater dress thing from Wonder Woman, but I think I might go get it anyway, this weekend :/
Photobucket

And some nice items I saw at NewYorker recently:
Photobucket
purple undieeees!

Photobucket
Very mature stylish jumpsuit :D

Today they're shooting a scene in the movie about the abduction of mr. Heineken (yes, from the beer) on the other side of my street!
but becasue it was in the 80's they put old cars there and this big advertisement pole that was never there XD
Photobucket
It's not like we can take that much parking space here, this is Amsterdam, the most expensive and difficult place to park in the world! (last year anyway XD) my mom can park with less than 10cm spare space~!!! so usually the cars are really really close but either because there were less cars in the 80's or because they don't have a lot of old cars, they made it look like this

Sayaka Araki to graduate from Koakuma Ageha.

This is the cover of March Ageha, featuring long time Agemo Sayaka Araki.
Photobucket
In the issue there are 5 pages dedicated to her graduation from ageha.

Sayaka thanks the readers, she sais she really would love to stay with Ageha but she feels like if she doesn't leave the comfortable place that Ageha is for her, she won't be able to make progress. ( I know this feeling~ )
Photobucket

She has been with Ageha since the 3rd issue, in 2006. She made her first cover in the december issue of 2006.

All in all she's been with Ageha for 4 years and 10 months, since she was 21 years old.

I haven't been able to see a copy of the Ageha/I love Mama/Nuts collab :oneesan ni natta yet but it seems Sayaka plays a meaningfull role there too.
Photobucket

Sayaka has had a career as DJ A-Lucky and is a company chief.
Photobucket
Photobucket

How Sayaka came to Ageha is written down in the Ageha Comic that was printed in 2007.
For this I'll link you to the original post about this here by Patrick Macias.
Photobucket

I wish her the best of luck in her career and I hope she'll still meet the other models that she's close friends with.

Me Jane

I've temporarilly fixed the bandwith issue by going pro for a month so I'll work on it during this month to fix it permanently, or maybe I might go pro for a year..

Anyway! Today I've dedicated a post to a brand that doesn't have too much of a name but that produces things that are close to my heart.

Photobucket

When I came back from Japan I figured I wanted to get some more info on Me Jane and Glamorous Jane, my search led me to the Glamorous Jane boutique page on the site of Osaka Hep5. A couple days later I couldn't access that page anymore. I wondered if I had mistaken...no I hadn't, I'd seen the GJ shop in Hep5 by myself during my Japan trip in 2009...
it turned out that in the brief period between my return to Amsterdam and the day I wanted to make a post on the stuff I purchased, the GJ shop in Hep5 has seized to exist.

Photobucket

The way I've gotten to know Glamorous Jane was as the little sister of Ma*rs. As they are sister corporations (or is MJ the daughter of Ma*rs? I'm not sure), they were almost always placed next to the Ma*rs boutique, displaying a style similar to Ma*rs' but a tad toned down and less risky. At the time (2009) Me Jane shops were full of Glamorous Jane items, I think it was the golden year for Glamorous Jane and with that, Me Jane.

Photobucket

When I saw Me Jane shops this year, it was a LOT different. The style was more casual, mature, toned down. Some pieces with the hermes type shawls, sometimes attached to jeans' parts. I'd seen those online before and I wasn't thrilled at all and I still am not too interested in those pieces. Even though my impression of Me Jane, a name I'd heard of and not more than that before 2009, was a mature and toned down onee brand, but that image was whiped away from my mind.
What keeps all the different looks together is that to me, it all looks like you can wear it to the beach~!

Photobucket
Off course the tanned shopstaff adds to that effect

Anyway, I'm focussing on the things that I do like
so some old pics from the GJ Hep5 blog :)

and some recent items on Fukuoka Magenda shopstaff:

Not half bad :)

So even though in Me Jane today, I have to look more closely to find items I love, I won't abandon the brand~ I know they'll keep on surprising me with items that are cute and sexy but still comfortable.

Japan: Kyoto, last day.

I'll resume posting from now~!

The day before I had to depart back to the Netherlands, Rox and I went shopping one last time.

Photobucket

And we went as twins
Photobucket
in our 5 euro H&M dresses. very practical.

We went about looking for souvenirs and stuff and we finally bought something from the cute tiny pink shop in Teramachi
Photobucket

And we also went for lunch at the place with the ENORMOUS icecreams in the window
Photobucket
Photobucket
It was a bit sad actually, being the last day for me there.
Photobucket
Photobucket

I had a super fabulous time in Japan with Rox last January and I really hope I'll be able to go to Japan again soon and I hope it'll be just as much fun~!!
Photobucket

Meeting new people and getting many new experiences.
Photobucket

I finally felt independent and mature.
Photobucket

I have so many great memories, this trip really changed me in some ways and it gave me motivation and strength to study harder and also take better care of myself as a gal.
Photobucket

I really hope I won't need to miss Japan for long.

But the last week I had some setbacks, beside the Japan disaster I've also found out the new policy on the Japan studies master in Leiden, more exclusive, my chances of studying in Japan have become significantly smaller but I might apply for a complete master in Japan, what kind of Japanologist would I be without studying in Japan?

And I also heard that I have a(n insignificant) virus on my left eye, it will cure fast but the result (dried cornea, irritation and blurry vision) can last from one month time to up to a year and untill it's completely clear I can't wear lenses. Luckilly it's nothing permanent and it was also NOT caused by wearing lenses, I must've caught it from someone else because it's very contagious.

But I feel very cheered up by the positive response on my pic in Tumblr, Thanx once more to the poster, on Gaijin Gyarus. That was a wonderfull surprise~!

Japan disaster (suspending some blogposts, I'm so sorry)

As my days are currently haunted by images of the immense devastation in the north-east of Honshu, I've decided to suspend some planned posts untill I feel it's appropriate to carry on blogging merrily, it migth be tomorrow, it might be next week (definetly not longer than one week), but please cope with me. For me it just doesn't feel right to blog my egocentric, material interests right now.
Off course it doesn't help to get stuck in only this disaster and forget everything else that makes up my life but that's not in fact the case. I try to stay updated as I carry on with my life, and I read other people's blogs and it makes me smile so it's all good. But I would feel selfish to blog now, as my posts are generally egocentric and superficial.

People I know in Tokyo are alright, the rest of the people I know in Japan are from Kyushu so they are fine. Hisashi's family is fine aswell. Sadly the lady he currently lives in with had relatives in Sendai and she hasn't been able to contact them yet, I hope she will get a comforting mesage from her family as soon as possible.

My greatest worry, and supposedly that of anyone, is the situation with the nuclear plants that still don't seem to be in control. Emergency has been called in the area around another nuclear plant in Onagawa.

I'm also getting worried about the lightness with which the Japanese press and government respond to the nuclear issues, while the world's nuclear experts are left in the dark with the mixed, vague information, making guesses for effects much greater than those put out by the Japanese media. Off course this might be what you can expect from the Japanese media. And it's only good to try prevent causing chaos, as long as the actions taken by the professionals is sufficient

Other than that the Japanese government is handling it well, the use of the self defence forces and search and rescue teams seems to be going efficiently but sadly towns and cities have been whiped away and 10,000 people are missing from one town only.

Issues like the electricity that will be shut down and the supermarkets that are running empty, those are things that I trust the Japanese to be able to handle well and fast.

I'm SO sorry my sweet readers ;~; I will resume blogging within this week, I just need to feel like it's justified and I promise it's going to be cheerfull and fun!!

Sendai Earthquake

I want to show my deepest sympathy and regret for all the victims of the results of the earthquake near Sendai today (yesterday Japanese time), Tsunami, earth shocks and fires. I'm so sorry for all those whose family or friends might be affected by this horrible catastrophe.
I am so sorry for this immense disaster, it's really unbelievable and sorry if my post is full of weird spelling and bad English. I'm also sorry my post came now even though I heard the news at 8 this morning.

As a student of Japan studies today was a very intense day, the college of professors was scattered, all had jobs to do, reporting, giving specialist insight and a lot of translating.

We could see the Japanese news in the library and many times I was near tears.

This is such an incredible blow. I really wish there was something I could do.

Outfit

A not so recent outfit!
Photobucket
A couple weeks back I REALLY wanted to try out this jumpsuit thingy I got from Skinny Lip, even though it was only for coffee with my friend, here's the result.
Photobucket

but when I came back home the wind totally ruined my head but the lucky thing was that I had a hat to still try out
Photobucket
which was not half bad.

Sometimes I think I should chill on my hair and just wear hats XD it's easy and less damageing~
